Performance

Powering the new Tucson are two engine options. The base powertrain is a 2.5-liter 187-hp four-cylinder engine, and the other is a 227-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor. Attached to the base engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission with front or all-wheel drive. While the hybrid has a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Fuel Economy

According to the EPA estimation, the Hyundai Tucson delivers about 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with its base engine and front-wheel drive. With its plug-in hybrid equipped, those numbers increase to 38 mpg in both city and highway.

Design

With its crisp lines and bevels, the Tucson boasts a stylish exterior design. As Visalia and Madera drivers make their your way into the cabin, and they'll find an even more impressive display, complete with a modernized look and upscale materials. Drivers will also find a digital gauge display, push-button shifter, and touch-sensitive control panel. Technology

Along with a more upscale cabin, the updated Tucson also brought with it a slew of new tech. The 8.8-inch touchscreen is still available, but this can now be upgraded to a larger 10.3-inch unit in higher trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard for both monitors, but only the larger 10.3-inch display offers optional built-in navigation. Other features include heated and vented front seats, a sunroof, and Hyundai's digital key, which allows the driver to lock and unlock the vehicle and start the Tucson from their phones.

Safety

The Hyundai Tucson has always been known as a reliable SUV, and the new model is the same. Features like driver attention warning, forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control are still standard.
